A l'origine une tradition américaine qui se tenait le lendemain du Thanksgiving, le Black Friday s'est depuis répandu dans le monde entier avec des commerçants offrant des promotions importantes pour relancer les achats de fin d'année.
Cette année, il a lieu le 27 novembre.
La décision de le repousser d'une semaine en France a été annoncée vendredi par le ministre de l'économie Bruno Le Maire dans une déclaration en accord avec les organisations représentant les supermarchés, les grandes chaînes de distribution et les plateformes de commerce électronique, telles que Amazon.
"Cet accord unanime a été conclu en vue de permettre la réouverture des magasins dans un avenir proche dans des conditions de sécurité sanitaire maximales", indique la déclaration.
Le Maire a également félicité les grands distributeurs d'avoir accepté de reporter l'événement. "C'est en étant unis et responsables que nous surmonterons cette crise économique et sanitaire", il écrit sur Twitter.
Le Black Friday du pays est donc prévu pour le 4 décembre, bien que les autorités aient souligné qu'il reste conditionné à la situation épidémiologique.
La France est actuellement sous le coup d'un deuxième confinement national, tous les magasins, sauf ceux qui ne sont pas essentiels, étant fermés au moins jusqu'au 1er décembre.
